Adventurers' News
Good day, dear adventurers!
As I promised, today I’ll tell you why there haven’t been any updates for so long. My goodness, it’s already been three months! Ahem... so, here’s the thing.
1. Studies.
My friend, who handles the visual part of our adventure, told me at the end of November (around the 25th–29th) that he wouldn’t be able to work for a while because he had to defend his master’s thesis.
And since my skills in anything visual are, to put it mildly, awful (three years of trial and error have proven that), we decided to put the project on hold.
In the end, his defense was finished around December 20th–23rd (sorry for the vague dates, my memory isn’t the best). We worked for about a week, but then had to pause again due to the second reason.
2. Holidays
Yes, yes, everyone’s favorite! The holidays began, and we got caught up in preparing for them. Then came lots of food, friends, family gatherings—had to celebrate with everyone… Well, you know how it goes.
So, the chains of the holiday season were only broken on January 18th. (You might ask, “Why so long?”—and I’d answer: there was a lot of food… and a lot of friends. And where there are friends, there’s also drinks. :3)
Since then, we’ve been working as usual (five days a week). Of course, we skipped a day or two occasionally, but that didn’t happen often and for various reasons.
C’est la vie, what can I say?
3. Large Update Volume
And finally, the last reason. Previously, our updates consisted of 1–3 events and minor changes.
This update won’t continue the main story—that's planned for the next patch. Instead, we’re adding only open-world events:
- 6–9 events for the park (some can be skipped depending on choices, but don’t worry, there will be a warning).
- 1 event for the store.
- 1 event for the city center.
- 4–5 events for the pub (some are minor, like finding money or a random encounter in the park, but they’re meant to tie into future content).
Doesn’t seem like much, right? But now imagine that each event needs at least one character. The pub requires a new location. And so, the snowball effect begins.
(And on top of that, we—being the special kind of people we are—decided to make all events trigger randomly. Sounds simple, but figuring out the proper event conditions almost drove me insane.)
So, the update ended up taking much longer than expected. But don’t worry—we’re alive and still working on our adventure!
That’s all for now. This turned out to be quite a lot of text, but thank you to everyone who read it to the end. Best of luck to you, and thank you for being with us!
We hope you'll enjoy our adventure. With respect, your S.I.T. Studio. ;3
